More Trailers

Storyboards

This is my first draft of my storyboards for the begining of my trailer. I've broken the scenes into 'clips' as a trailer ushally consists of clips from the final film.

Assessment Critera

I watched 3 film opening's of student film and looked at how they could be developed into trailers.
Blink Murder - I've assessed this opening as a Level 3 as I feel they haven't considered the framing of some of their shots.
Caught in the Web - I've assesed this opening as boardering on Level 3/4 as they have been very creative with their camera shots, and really considered mise-en-scene, encluding costume, location and props.
Double Edge - I think the opening would have just fallen into a Level 4, they have been really creative with some of the shot types and compesition of their shots. The second half is alot better than the first, the second half begins to reflect an independant film.

The films could be turned into trailers by:
Blink Murder - By cutting it when the titles come up, and loseing the narrative scene.
Caught in the Web - Cut the clip at 33 seconds and put some titles on.
Double Edge - Open the trailer with the video tape going into the VCR, and showing the hostage video.

Peer Assesment

Targets:

-Explain the task a bit more in my brief.

-Compare examples from existing trailers to my work more often.

-Audience research

Script

Clip 1 Script

Mollie and Nate are walking down the corridor holding hands. Mollie turns to Nate and hugs him.

Mollie: see you later

Nate walks into the classroom

Lily sighs

Lily: Mollie your so lucky.

Mollie smiles

Mollie: I know

Clip 2 Script

Mollie and Lily are sat in class. The teacher is handing out work.

Mollie: Yes!

Lily: What did you get?

Mollie: an A

Lily shakes her head

Lily: How do you do that?

Clip 3 Script

Mollie and Nate have an argument.
(Improvised argument, as music will be played over the top whilst the audio is muted)

Clip 5
Mollie walks into school and see's MISSING posters with Nate's face on them. Mollie walks into class, and whispers to Lily.
Mollie: What's going on?
A police officer stands in front of the class.
Detective: Nate Tyler was reported missing last night. Any of you who know any thing need to come forward

Locations

The main locations for my film will be in school, either corridor or classroom scenes, in Mollie's bedroom and possibly some outside location shots.
These are some stills from Another Cinderella story showing the locations common to this genre.
-A mid shot in her bedroom.
-A mid shot in a classroom
-A 2 shot of the main character and her best friend in a corridor.
-A 2 shot of the main character and her love intrest in a corridor.

These are some shots of locations I hope to use for school scenes of my film.
