Recording My Voiceover

To record my voiceover for my trailer I used Garage Band by Apple. We recorded the voice over via a headset, and adjusted the pitch on Garage Band. I then exported it as a MP3 file, so I'm able to add it to my trailer.

Production So Far.... UPDATE

Since my last update of filming, I have filmed more footage. After looking through my footage so far and other existing media products I established certain shots I need to create a more realistic trailer for my genre. After discussions with my teacher it was clear my trailer was lacking comedy. I have since filmed a comic scene with I feel supports my genre better.
I have also re arranged the sequence and pace of my trailer so far, to make it quicker, snappier and a lot more fun.
My next stage is to record a voice over for my trailer. In the post below you'll see some examples, and my script for my voice over.

Voice Over

Many trailers use voice overs for the trailers to tell the audience more about the plot of the film so the clips seen make sense to the viewer.

I've decided to script two voice overs for my trailer;
1. From the P.O.V of the main character Mollie, like in the trailer for Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan narrates from the P.O.V of Cady.

2. From a narrator voicing the film, like in the trailer for Wild Child.

Mollie Voice Over

High School, it’s not so bad,

That’s me Mollie Fletcher,

I wouldn’t say I’m popular

I get good grades, good friends and best of all

My boyfriend Nate……

Until one day……………

DELETE

Voiced Over Script

In this High School Mollie Fletcher had it all

Good Grades,

Friends

And her boyfriend Nate

Until one day

Things didn’t go so well…..

And she deleted him for good

Now she’s on a mission to find Nate, and restore their relationship

Production So Far....

I have now began production of my media products including my trailer and film poster.
My filming has gone well so far, and I've started to edit my footage so far. I've continued to think about codes and conventions of my genre during filming, making sure shots and framed right and accurately, this is so I can achieve a good representation of an American High School.

I've also began to create my film poster, I've put together a layout of the poster using photoshop, and have also done a photoshot for my poster and website.
